As money is definitely tight for this coming Christmas, it should come as no surprise that more and more people are looking to save a few quid when it comes to their gift buying. However, if you are thinking about buying perfume or aftershave that is anything other than the real thing - seriously think again!
Having bought aftershaves abroad myself, for a fraction of the price, I really can assure you that the imitations are nothing like as good as the real thing. You also have fake products (under different names) that are intended to legally imitate the genuine product in this country, and again, these are invariably a terrible replica.
I have even heard about some of these products being downright dangerous for people. This will especially be the case if you are buying imitations from abroad, where you may not be fully aware of the ingredients that have been put into the scent.
Then you have to consider the fact that the recipient of the cheaper gift is going to know that you compromised on their present. Personally, if anyone did this with me, being a very outspoken person, they would definitely get a mouthful from me! I would say that they could have just bought a smaller bottle of the product, rather than thinking I was stupid enough not to spot the fake.
So, the moral of this little article is not to compromise where perfume and aftershaves are concerned. If you cannot afford it, choose another gift, or simply downgrade on the size of bottle - easy.
