Obesity is a real health problem facing the world today. Obesity reflects overall poor health and is linked with several other chronic conditions such as diabetes and coronary health disease. Today, 46% and 32% of men and women respectively in the UK are clinically obese. Overall good health depends on a balanced diet, lots of regular exercise and a calm and stress free mind. It is only recently that scientists have begun to make definite connections between the health of our mind with that of the body. Body weight too is affected by mental stress, and over stress can exacerbate it.
There are plenty of weight loss and weight management plans, and these include diet plans as well as exercise routines. As the popularity of plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery increases, more and more people are opting for liposuctions, tummy tucks and other quick fixes to cure obesity. For people who cannot seem to lose any weight despite following various weight loss plans, this seems to be a good option as it gives a starting point from which to take up a fresh challenge. However, these procedures cannot be an alternative to a healthy lifestyle and a good nourishing diet. This is true for the simple reason that no matter how many tummy-tucks one gets, if one follows the same lifestyle as before, one is likely to gain weight once again.
